How to Update The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Follow these steps to update The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, or review the software's update history.
Note
- Save data will still be available for use after downloading the update.
- The update will download and install automatically if the system is connected to the internet and the Software Auto-Updates setting is enabled on your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console. To ensure you have space to download the update, please review our storage tips for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
- If you purchased or upgraded to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of this software, this update must be applied to enjoy any added features or content when playing on Nintendo Switch 2.
On February 17, 2026, a new software update for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom became available for download. Please take a moment to download and install this update while your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console is connected to the internet.

How to connect Nintendo Switch 2 to a wireless home network
- Place the Nintendo Switch 2 console within 10 feet of the wireless router so there will be a strong wireless signal.
- Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
- Select Internet, and then Internet SettingsConfiguración de internetParamètres InternetConfigurações de internet. Your console will automatically search for nearby wireless network signals.
- Select the appropriate network name (SSID) from the list.
- Use the onscreen keyboard to enter the network's wireless password, if one is required.
- The connection will be tested. Once the test is complete, select OK.
- If the connection test fails, an error code and message will appear. Search for our support article on the error code for steps to troubleshoot the connection.

How to connect Nintendo Switch to a wireless home network
- Place the Nintendo Switch console within 10 feet of the wireless router to ensure a strong wireless signal.
- Select Settings from the HOME Menu
on the Nintendo Switch console. - Select Internet, and then Internet Settings
. The Nintendo Switch will automatically search for near-by Wi-Fi signals. - Select the appropriate network name (SSID) from the list.
- If prompted, use the onscreen keyboard to enter the network's wireless password
. - The Nintendo Switch will test the Internet connection. Once the test is complete, select OK to complete the process.

How to connect Nintendo Switch 2 to a wireless home network
- From the HOME Menu, select the icon for the software you wish to update without starting the game or application.
- Press the + Button or – Button on your controller. The current version number will display under the software title.
- Select Software Update followed by Via the Internet.
Latest update: Ver. 1.4.3 (Released February 17, 2026)

- Fixed an issue causing the Black Hinox in Hyrule Castle to appear as undefeated even after being defeated, preventing players from obtaining the Hinox Monster Medal. By downloading the update data, players will be able to obtain the Hinox Monster Medal.

Fixed Issues
- Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the screen to flicker intensely when large amounts of stamps were placed on the Map.
- Fixed an issue that prevented players from obtaining the contents of treasure chests attached to Flux Constructs when the treasure chests vanished as a result of the Flux Construct’s attacks.
- If the treasure chest vanished, reloading the save data will either restore the treasure chest or cause the chest’s contents to automatically appear in your Pouch.
- If a certain event does not trigger when talking to Koltin after collecting all of the Bubbul Gems, downloading this update data will fix it so that the event triggers.
- Several other issues have been addressed to improve the gameplay experience.

- By starting the game from within certain articles released on a specific Switch News channel (accessed via the HOME Menu) players can receive a number of in-game items.
- Depending on the state of gameplay progression or the location in which the data is reopened, there may be cases in which the items cannot be received.
Additional Fixes
- Fixed an issue where players could not progress beyond a certain point in the main quests “A Mystery in the Depths” and “Secret of the Ring Ruins”, the side adventures “Hateno Village Research Lab” and “Lurelin Village Restoration Project”, the shrine quest “Dyeing to Find It”, and the side quests “Village Attacked by Pirates”, “The Incomplete Stable”, and “Seeking the Pirate Hideout”. Downloading the update will allow players to proceed past that point.
- Fixed an issue preventing fairies from appearing under certain conditions when they originally should have appeared.
- Fixed an issue preventing the meals provided by Kiana of Lurelin Village from changing under certain conditions.
- Several issues have been addressed to improve the gameplay experience.
