How to Update Pikmin 3 Deluxe

Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch - OLED Model

Follow these steps to update Pikmin 3 Deluxe, or review the software's update history.

Note
  • This update must be applied in order to use the game’s Internet features.
  • A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to use the game's online features.
  • Save data will still be available for use after downloading the update.
  • The update will download and install automatically if the system is connected to the internet and the Software Auto-Updates setting is enabled on your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console. To ensure you have space to download the update, please review our storage tips for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
  • All players must be using the same version of the software to play together. Please make sure you have the same update version as the person you are playing with.

On August 31, 2026, a new software update for Pikmin 3 Deluxe became available for download. Please take a moment to download and install this update while your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console is connected to the internet.

Complete these steps

  1. Connect your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console to the internet.
    • How to connect Nintendo Switch 2 to a wireless home network
      1. Place the Nintendo Switch 2 console within 10 feet of the wireless router so there will be a strong wireless signal.

      4. Select the appropriate network name (SSID) from the list.
      5. Use the onscreen keyboard to enter the network's wireless password, if one is required. Entering wireless network password using on-screen keyboard in the System Settings on Nintendo Switch 2
      6. The connection will be tested. Once the test is complete, select OK.
        • If the connection test fails, an error code and message will appear. Search for our support article on the error code for steps to troubleshoot the connection.

    • How to connect Nintendo Switch to a wireless home network
      1. Place the Nintendo Switch console within 10 feet of the wireless router to ensure a strong wireless signal.
      2. Select Settings from the HOME Menu System Settings icon highlighted on the HOME Menu Screen on the Nintendo Switch console.
      3. Select Internet, and then Internet Settings Internet is selected on the System Settings menu on the Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Switch will automatically search for near-by Wi-Fi signals.
      4. Select the appropriate network name (SSID) from the list.
      5. If prompted, use the onscreen keyboard to enter the network's wireless password Onscreen keyboard displayed when a network's wireless password is required.
      6. The Nintendo Switch will test the Internet connection. Once the test is complete, select OK to complete the process.

  2. From the HOME Menu, select the icon for the software you wish to update without starting the game or application.
  3. Press the + Button or – Button on your controller. The current version number will display under the software title.
  4. Select Software Update followed by Via the Internet.

Latest update: Ver. 1.2.0 (Released August 31, 2026)

The following updates have been made when playing the game on Nintendo Switch 2:

General

  • Added support for the Nintendo Switch 2 display and high-resolution televisions, resulting in a sharper image.
  • Added support for GameShare.
    • From “Bingo Battle” on the title screen, options for “Local Play” and “Via GameChat” have been added.
The following updates have been made when playing the game on Nintendo Switch:

No changes have been made.

Note: Update data for the changes above has not been released for “Pikmin 3 Deluxe Demo ver.” (latest demo version: Ver. 1.1.3).

Past updates

  • Ver. 1.1.3 (Released June 16, 2025)
    The following updates have been made when playing the game on Nintendo Switch 2:

    General

    • Fixed an issue that occurs when playing on Nintendo Switch 2 where the entire screen will briefly turn off and on again in several scenes of the game, such as at the beginning and end of a day.
    • Several adjustments have been made to improve gameplay on Nintendo Switch 2.

    [Updated July 2, 2025] Ver. 1.1.3 has now been distributed for “Pikmin 3 Deluxe Demo ver.” This applies the same fixes as the full game. If you cannot start the demo version on Nintendo Switch 2 or are unable to download the update for the demo version, please wait a while and try starting the software again.

  • Ver. 1.1.2 (Released June 3, 2025)
    The following updates have been made when playing the game on Nintendo Switch 2:

    General

    • Partially alleviated an issue that occurs when playing on Nintendo Switch 2 where the entire screen will briefly turn off and on again in several scenes of the game, such as at the beginning and end of a day.
      • This is planned to be fixed in the near future.

    Note: An update addressing the problem above has not been distributed for “Pikmin 3 Deluxe Demo ver.” However, we plan to perform the same fix as the full game in a future update.

  • Ver. 1.1.1 (Released June 21, 2023)
    Overview
    • Updated the software icon which appears on the HOME Menu and elsewhere.
  • Ver. 1.1.0 (Released November 24, 2020)

    Overview

    • Fixes the bug where collected fruits were not being recorded under certain conditions.
      • If the problem was already happening, the collected fruit record will unfortunately not be adjusted. Once the update is downloaded, the bug will be fixed by going back to the date with no fruits recorded and collecting a fruit.
    • Fixes the bug where acquired Badges got reverted to the unacquired status under certain conditions.
      • If the problem was already happening, the badges can be acquired by meeting the acquisition condition again.
