Connectivity Issues - Pokémon GO App and Pokémon Games on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch
Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch - OLED Model, Pokémon GO
Follow these steps when the connection between the Pokémon GO smart device app and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, Pokémon Scarlet, or Pokémon Violet is not working or is unstable.
Important
This feature becomes available when you reach the following points in the respective games:
- Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!/Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! - After you reach Fuchsia City.
- Pokémon Scarlet/Pokémon Violet - After you reach the first Pokémon Center in Los Platos.
Note: Pokémon GO connects to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch consoles via Low Energy (BLE) technology. The Poké Ball Plus is not used to connect them.
What to do
- Ensure your console has the latest system update.

How to check for the latest system update
- Select System Settings on the HOME Menu.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the System Settings menu and select System.
- Select System Update to start the system update process.
- The system will check to see if an update is available.

How to check for the latest system update
- Restart the console and try connecting again. To restart the console, press the POWER Button for three seconds, and then select Power OptionsOpciones de apagadoOptions d'alimentationOpções de desligar, followed by Restart.
- Ensure that the game you are connecting to has the latest software update.

How to update game software
- Ensure the console is connected to the Internet.
- From the HOME Menu, select (but do not start) the icon for the software you wish to update.
- Press the + Button or – Button on your controller, then select Software Update followed by Via the Internet.

How to update game software
- Verify that Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone. (If you’re not sure how to do this, check with your phone manufacturer.)
- Reboot and pair the game and the app:
- Uninstall, then reinstall the Pokémon GO app on your smart device.
- Verify that your version of the Pokémon GO app is 0.265.0 or higher. You can check this by tapping the Poké Ball icon in the app, selecting Settings, and scrolling towards the bottom.
- Restart your smart device.
- Verify that Airplane Mode is turned off on your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch system.
- Turn off or unpair any other Bluetooth devices connected to your smart device.
- Pair the game to the Pokémon GO app.
- Uninstall, then reinstall the Pokémon GO app on your smart device.
- Try connecting to your console with Pokémon GO on a different smart device.
- If your console can connect with a different smart device, the issue is likely with your phone settings. Please contact your phone manufacturer for assistance.
- Unlink and link your Nintendo Account with your Pokémon GO app.
To unlink:- Go to the Nintendo Account website and sign in to your Nintendo Account.
- Select User information, then Linked apps and services to view the apps currently linked to your Nintendo Account.
- In the Services authorized to receive this account's information section, select Edit.
- Select the dropdown for Pokémon GO, then select Revoke permission.
To link:- Launch the Pokémon GO app on your smart device.
- Open the menu by tapping the Poke Ball in the bottom-center part of the field screen.
- Tap Settings in the top right.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Connected Devices and Services, then tap Pokémon HOME.
- Sign in using the Nintendo Account associated with your Pokémon HOME account.
