Error Code: 2110-2003

Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch - OLED Model

Follow these steps when you're unable to connect your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console to a wireless network and you receive the error code 2110-2003.

Note
  • Error codes in this range generally indicate an error occurred when the console attempted to initially connect to a wireless router (usually prior to obtaining an IP address).
  • This may occur if the Internet settings were set up incorrectly, or if the console could not locate the wireless router.

Before you start

You will need:

  • Your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch
  • Access to your home network devices (router, modem, etc.)

Possible solutions

Test your connection after each change is made to the console or network environment to determine if the change resolves your issue.

  • Restart the console.
  • Create a new Internet connection.

      1. Place the Nintendo Switch 2 console within 10 feet of the wireless router so there will be a strong wireless signal.

      4. Select the appropriate network name (SSID) from the list.

      6. The connection will be tested. Once the test is complete, select OK.

    • How to connect Nintendo Switch to a wireless home network
      1. Place the Nintendo Switch console within 10 feet of the wireless router to ensure a strong wireless signal.
      2. Select Settings from the HOME Menu System Settings icon highlighted on the HOME Menu Screen on the Nintendo Switch console.
      3. Select Internet, and then Internet Settings Internet is selected on the System Settings menu on the Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Switch will automatically search for near-by Wi-Fi signals.
      4. Select the appropriate network name (SSID) from the list.
      5. If prompted, use the onscreen keyboard to enter the network's wireless password Onscreen keyboard displayed when a network's wireless password is required.
      6. The Nintendo Switch will test the Internet connection. Once the test is complete, select OK to complete the process.

  • Power cycle your home network.
    • How to power cycle your home network
      1. Unplug the power cable from both the modem and wireless router (if separate from the modem).
      2. If the modem's lights remain on, this may indicate you have a back-up battery installed. You will need to remove this battery to power cycle the modem.
      3. After 30 seconds, plug the power cable back into your modem and wait for the lights to remain steady.
      4. Plug the power cable back into the router and wait for the router lights to remain steady.

  • Review your network's password information, then correctly reenter your wireless password into your console's Internet settings.

      1. Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
      2. Select Internet, and then Internet Settings. The console will automatically search for nearby Wi-Fi signals.
      3. Select the connection you wish to edit located under Registered Networks.
      4. Select Change Settings.
      5. Select Security.
      6. Select the matching security type: WEP (Open), WEP (Shared), WPA-PSK (AES), or WPA2-PSK (AES).
      7. Enter the wireless password exactly as it appears, paying close attention to any symbols, special characters, or unusual capitalization.

      8. Select OK to save these settings.

  • Try to reduce wireless interference and increase your network signal strength.

      • Move the router to a central location within your home and as close to your system as possible. If your router is on the floor, moving it to a higher location can improve the signal strength.
      • Move any metal objects or electronic devices away from your Nintendo Switch console and wireless router. This includes filing cabinets, speakers, power strips, glass, or cordless phones that may interfere with wireless signals.
      • Connect to a different wireless band if your router supports both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequency bands and a Bluetooth audio device is connected to your Nintendo Switch system.
      • Disconnect any Bluetooth audio device and pair a different device or use wired audio.

Situation not resolved

If you are still unable to connect, this may indicate an issue related to the network environment or wireless router being used.

If you would like to continue troubleshooting potential issues related to the wireless router, contact the router's manufacturer for assistance with performing the following steps:

  • Updating the wireless router's firmware
  • Resetting the router back to its factory default settings
