Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch - OLED Model

How to connect, disconnect, and remove saved Bluetooth audio devices on your Nintendo Switch console.

Note
  • You may experience audio latency depending on your Bluetooth device.
  • Volume changes may occur when using the same Bluetooth audio device across multiple devices including Nintendo Switch.

Complete these steps

  1. Make sure your console has been updated to the latest system version.
  2. Follow the path below based on what you want to do.
  • Pair a new Bluetooth audio device
    Important
    • Only one Bluetooth audio device can be paired at a time, but up to 10 devices can be saved on a Nintendo Switch console.
    • Bluetooth microphones cannot be used.
    1. Make sure that no more than two wireless controllers are currently connected to your Nintendo Switch console. If a controller needs to be disconnected, hold the SYNC Button on the controller for at least one second.
      • A pair of Joy-Con counts as two wireless controllers.
    2. Turn on your Bluetooth audio device and set it to a searchable state or pairing mode.
      • Follow the instructions for your specific Bluetooth audio device on how to enable it to be paired.
    3. From the Nintendo Switch HOME menu, open System Settings.
    4. • Searching for pairable devices can take several seconds.
      • If 10 devices have already been paired and saved to the console, you will need to remove at least one saved device before you can pair a new one.
    5. Select your Bluetooth audio device’s name when it is found.
    6. Once connected, any audio that is played will be output through your Bluetooth device. Be sure to adjust the console volume to a comfortable level.
  • Reconnect a saved device
    1. Turn on your Bluetooth audio device and ensure it is not already paired to another device.
      • Your audio device may automatically reconnect to your Nintendo Switch console when it is turned on and in range. In this case, no further steps are needed; audio will be output through your Bluetooth device.
    2. From the Nintendo Switch HOME menu, open System Settings.
