How to Redeem a Download Code on Nintendo eShop
Steps to redeem a software download code in the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch.
Before you start
You will need:
- The download code to be redeemed

Where to find a download code from a retailer
Download codes from retailers are found on the receipt or card you were given.
- Some retailer cards include both a download code and a Control Number. Enter the Download Code (usually begins with a B, no hyphens in the number) and not the Control Number (usually begins with an S, has hyphens).

- Your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console
- If you are away from your system, you can redeem a download code online.
- A Nintendo Account set to a country where Nintendo eShop is available
Complete these steps
- Connect your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch to the Internet.

How to connect Nintendo Switch 2 to a wireless home network
- Place the Nintendo Switch 2 console within 10 feet of the wireless router so there will be a strong wireless signal.
- Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
- Select Internet, and then Internet SettingsConfiguración de internetParamètres InternetConfigurações de internet. Your console will automatically search for nearby wireless network signals.
- Select the appropriate network name (SSID) from the list.
- Use the onscreen keyboard to enter the network's wireless password, if one is required.
- The connection will be tested. Once the test is complete, select OK.

How to connect Nintendo Switch to a wireless home network
- Place the Nintendo Switch console within 10 feet of the wireless router to ensure a strong wireless signal.
- Select Settings from the HOME Menu
on the Nintendo Switch console. - Select Internet, and then Internet Settings
. The Nintendo Switch will automatically search for near-by Wi-Fi signals. - Select the appropriate network name (SSID) from the list.
- If prompted, use the onscreen keyboard to enter the network's wireless password
. - The Nintendo Switch will test the Internet connection. Once the test is complete, select OK to complete the process.

- Note that this will not turn off user verification, but instead switch it to requiring you to sign in to your Nintendo Account. You can change back to the PIN Contraseña Code secret PIN verification method and create a new PIN Contraseña Code secret PIN in your User Settings.

Forgot password
- Select Enter Code on the left side of the screen.
- Enter the 16-character download code.
- Some letters and symbols are not used in download codes, such as O, I, Z, and hyphens. Those characters will be disabled from the on-screen keyboard.
- Select OK to confirm. The game will begin downloading once the code is confirmed.

This indicates that you are trying to redeem a download code for content that is intended for Nintendo Switch 2, not Nintendo Switch.

Additional information
- After redeeming the code, the game icon will appear on the HOME Menu with a download status bar. The status bar will disappear once the download is complete.
- If you redeemed the download code on one of your consoles that can load virtual game cards, the game will automatically be loaded when the download is complete.
