Error Code: 2016-4102

What to do

1. Make sure both consoles are in close proximity to each other, then try linking the consoles or lending the virtual game card again.
   • How to link two consoles in order to load virtual game cards
     1. Bring the console that can already load your virtual game cards and the second console where you want to load virtual game cards close to each other.
     2. Make sure both consoles are connected to the internet. For steps, see either How to Connect to the Internet on Nintendo Switch 2 or How to Connect to the Internet on Nintendo Switch.
     3. Link your Nintendo Account to a user on the second console, if you have not already done so.
     4. On the second console:
        1. Select Virtual Game Cards Tarjetas de juego virtuales Cartes de jeu virtuelles Cartões de jogo virtuais from the HOME Menu.
        2. Select the user linked to your Nintendo Account.
        3. If prompted, enter your user verification PIN or enter your Nintendo Account password.
        4. Select one of your virtual game cards that you would like to load on this console.
        5. Select Load on This System Cargar en esta consola Charger sur cette console Carregar neste console .
        6. Select Next Seguir Suite Próximo .

     5. On the original console:
        1. Select Virtual Game Cards Tarjetas de juego virtuales Cartes de jeu virtuelles Cartões de jogo virtuais from the HOME Menu.
        2. Select the user linked to your Nintendo Account.
        3. If prompted, enter your user verification PIN or enter your Nintendo Account password.
        4. A message about linking to another console will appear. Select Link Vincular Synchroniser Vincular .
        5. The linking process will begin. Select OK Aceptar OK OK when it is complete.
     6. If prompted, select Load on This System Cargar en esta consola Charger sur cette console Carregar neste console to load the virtual game card you selected earlier on the newly linked console.

   • How to lend and borrow virtual game cards
     1. Bring your console that can load virtual game cards and the console of the person that you want to lend the game card to close to each other.
     2. Make sure both consoles are connected to the internet. For steps on how to do that, please see either How to Connect to the Internet on Nintendo Switch 2 or How to Connect to the Internet on Nintendo Switch.
     3. On your console:
        1. Select Virtual Game Cards Tarjetas de juego virtuales Cartes de jeu virtuelles Cartões de jogo virtuais from the HOME Menu.
        2. Select the user linked to your Nintendo Account.
        3. If prompted, enter your user verification PIN or enter your Nintendo Account password.
        4. Select the game you want to lend to your family member from the list of your virtual game cards.
        5. Select Lend to Family Group Member Prestar a un miembro del grupo familiar Prêter à un membre du groupe familial Emprestar para um participante do grupo de família .

        7. Choose who you want to lend the virtual game card to from the list of your Nintendo Account family members. Be sure to choose someone whose Nintendo Account is linked to a user on the console you want to lend the game to.

     4. On the console with the user that will borrow the game:
        1. Select Virtual Game Cards Tarjetas de juego virtuales Cartes de jeu virtuelles Cartões de jogo virtuais from the HOME Menu.
        2. Select the user that will borrow the game.
        3. Have them enter their PIN or their Nintendo Account password, if prompted.
        4. Select Borrow Recibir Emprunter Pegar emprestado .
     5. The person that borrowed the virtual game card can now play the game (including any DLC you may have purchased) for up to 14 days.
        • Note that you will not be able to play the lent virtual game card until the game is returned after 14 days, the borrower returns it early, or you retrieve it.

2. Restart both consoles by pressing and holding the POWER Button for at least three seconds, selecting Power OptionsOpciones de apagadoOptions d'alimentationOpções de desligar, then Restart. After both consoles have been restarted, try linking the consoles or lending the virtual game card again.
3. If possible, connect your consoles to a different network than the one they are currently connected to, then try again.
   • How to connect Nintendo Switch to a wireless home network
     1. Place the Nintendo Switch console within 10 feet of the wireless router to ensure a strong wireless signal.
     2. Select Settings from the HOME Menu on the Nintendo Switch console.
     3. Select Internet, and then Internet Settings . The Nintendo Switch will automatically search for near-by Wi-Fi signals.
     4. Select the appropriate network name (SSID) from the list.
     5. If prompted, use the onscreen keyboard to enter the network's wireless password .
     6. The Nintendo Switch will test the Internet connection. Once the test is complete, select OK to complete the process.

4. If possible, connect each console to different networks, then try again.
   • For example, if you have a home wireless network and also have access to a mobile hotspot, connect one console to your home network and the other to your mobile hotspot.
5. Wait for at least 10 minutes before trying again.
6. Check if other local communication is working with your consoles, such as:
   • Searching for local users to add as friends.
   • Updating software data via a local user.
   • Transferring save data between systems.
   • Playing local multiplayer.
7. If these do not work, try the following:
   • Moving any metal objects or electronic devices away from their console and wireless router. Items such as filing cabinets, speakers, power strips, glass, or cordless phones may interfere with wireless signals.
   • Connecting to a different network, such as a friend's or family's home network.
   • Determining which system is defective. Try to link each of the 2 consoles to a third console. If 1 (or both) of these has trouble, that console is causing the issue.
