Unable to Upload Screenshots and Videos from Nintendo Switch 2 to the Nintendo Switch App

Follow these steps if you cannot upload screenshots or videos to the Nintendo Switch App. You may receive one of the following messages:

"Can't upload screenshots or video from this software."
"Can't upload selected screenshots or videos."

Note: Some software may not allow uploading screenshots and videos, or may restrict captures from certain scenes in the game, such as those considered spoilers.

Before you start

The same Nintendo Account must be linked to your Nintendo Switch 2 system and signed into the Nintendo Switch App.
Your Nintendo Switch 2 system must be connected to the internet to upload screenshots to the Nintendo Switch App.
- If you are not connected currently, the files will be added to your pending uploads and will be uploaded once connected to the internet again.
Visit Nintendo's Network Status page and check for any posted service maintenance or outages.

  Please wait until the outage or maintenance has ended and check whether the issue is resolved before following this troubleshooting.

Restart the console.

  1. Press and hold the POWER Button for at least three seconds.

Perform an internet connection test to confirm your console can connect online.

  Look up the specific error code you received to troubleshoot the issue with your network connection. Using your smart device, you can scan the QR code that appears with the error code to search for it.
If parental controls are set up and you have selected a video to upload, the parental controls PIN must be entered.
