Friend List on Nintendo Systems and Apps

Nintendo systems and mobile applications include Friend List features to allow players to enjoy online experiences with their friends. These features may include seeing when your friends are online and what they’re currently playing. The ability to interact or play with your friends will vary on individual games' features.

Please remember that our Community Guidelines apply when playing online, including when playing with friends.

Parents of younger players can use Parental Controls to manage what their children can do when playing online.

• Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch

  Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch users can become friends with each other. Becoming friends allows you to see each other’s online status in your user settings and play compatible games together online.

  • A Nintendo Account is required to use the Friend List features.
  • Friend List allows you to send and receive friend requests and view and manage the friends you already have (including adding a note).

      • Players can unfriend and/or block players they no longer want to stay connected to.
    • Nintendo Switch:

      • Players can unfriend and/or block players they no longer want to stay connected to.
  • Each user can have a maximum of 300 friends.
  • You can manage your online status and visibility to game play activity through your user settings.
