Where Can I Find My System Serial Number?

Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch - OLED Model, Nintendo 3DS

What to do

Select which system you have below to locate your system's serial number.

  • Unsure which system you have
    1. Check the text on the back of the system for the model number. On the Nintendo Switch OLED Model, the model number is beneath the adjustable stand.
    2. Use the table below to determine the type of system you have.

  • Nintendo Switch 2

    Fully open the adjustable stand on the back of the system and look under it to find a white sticker with the serial number. Serial numbers for Nintendo Switch 2 systems released in the Americas begin with either "HAW" or "HAU".

    • Sticker has been removed
      1. Select System Settings from the HOME Menu The System Settings icon highlighted on the HOME Menu on Nintendo Switch 2.
      2. Scroll down the menu on the left-hand side and select System, then Serial Information. The system serial number will be displayed at the top of the list.
  • Nintendo Switch

    Find the serial number on the white sticker at the bottom of your system. Serial numbers for Nintendo Switch systems released in the Americas begin with either "XAW" or "XKW".

      1. Select System Settings from the HOME Menu Nintendo Switch HOME Menu.
      2. Scroll down the menu on the left-hand side and select System, then Serial Information. The system serial number will be displayed at the top of the list.
  • Nintendo Switch Lite

    Find the serial number on the white sticker at the bottom of your system. Serial numbers for Nintendo Switch Lite systems released in the Americas begin with "XJW".

      1. Select System Settings from the HOME Menu Nintendo Switch HOME Menu.
      2. Scroll down the menu on the left-hand side and select System, then Serial Information. The system serial number will be displayed at the top of the list.
  • Nintendo Switch OLED Model

    Fully open the adjustable stand on the back of the system and look under it to find a white sticker with the serial number. Serial numbers for Nintendo Switch OLED Model systems released in the Americas begin with "XTW".

      1. Select System Settings from the HOME Menu Nintendo Switch HOME Menu.
      2. Scroll down the menu on the left-hand side and select System, then Serial Information. The system serial number will be displayed at the top of the list.
  • New Nintendo 3DS XL

    Check the back of the system for a white sticker with the serial number. Serial numbers for New Nintendo 3DS XL systems released in the Americas begin with "QW".

  • New Nintendo 2DS XL

    Open the game card slot cover on the bottom of the system and look beneath it to find a white sticker with the serial number. Serial numbers for New Nintendo 2DS XL systems released in the Americas begin with "NW".
