Unrecognized or Unauthorized Charge from Nintendo on My Billing Statement

Information to help when:

  • You see a payment to Nintendo on your credit card, bank, or PayPal statement that you do not recognize.
  • You receive an email from Nintendo with a receipt for a purchase you do not recognize.

Your privacy and account security are important to Nintendo. If you see an unknown charge from Nintendo, it is possible the charge was:

  • A recurring payment for a service or subscription that you authorized to automatically renew such as a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
  • A purchase made by a child, family member, or someone else you know who could access your credit card, PayPal information, or Nintendo Account.
  • A purchase that you don’t remember making, such as a pre-order on Nintendo eShop.

If you suspect that your credit card, PayPal account, or Nintendo Account may have been accessed by someone you don’t know, immediate action will be needed to prevent further charges.

Please use the information below to learn how to determine what the charge was for, who may have made it, and how to best address the situation.
