Error Code: 2618-0521
Information to help you when you receive error code 2618-0521 while attempting to use an online service or feature on Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch.
Before you start
You will need:
- Your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console
- An Internet connection via a wireless network
Remove your console from the dock and bring it within 10 to 15 feet of the wireless router to improve signal strength during troubleshooting.
Possible solutions
- Review support.nintendo.com/networkstatus for the most up-to-date maintenance and server status information.
If the error persists and there is no notice of Nintendo eShop maintenance, try again at a later time.
- Check that your console has the latest system update.
If the console is already up to date, restart it by holding down the POWER Button on your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch
console for three seconds, select Power OptionsOpciones de apagadoOptions d'alimentationOpções de desligar, then Restart.

- Select System Settings on the HOME Menu.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the System Settings menu and select System.
- Select System Update to start the system update process.
- The system will check to see if an update is available.

- Unplug the power cable from both the modem and wireless router (if separate from the modem).
- If the modem's lights remain on, this may indicate you have a back-up battery installed. You will need to remove this battery to power cycle the modem.
- After 30 seconds, plug the power cable back into your modem and wait for the lights to remain steady.
- Plug the power cable back into the router and wait for the router lights to remain steady.

How to power cycle your home network
- Move any metal objects or electronic devices away from your console and wireless router.
Metal objects and electronic devices may interfere with wireless signals. If you have any of these, such as filing cabinets, speakers, power strips, glass, or cordless phones, next to your console or wireless router, move them away.
- Manually enter an alternate DNS.
If the DNS you are attempting to use is not working, entering an alternate DNS may resolve this issue.

How to manually enter DNS settings on Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch
- Select Settings from the HOME Menu.
- Select Internet.
- Select Internet Settings. Your console will automatically search for nearby Wi-Fi signals.
- Select your network from the list of networks located under Saved Networks on Nintendo Switch 2 or Registered Networks on Nintendo Switch.
- Select Change Settings.
- Select DNS Settings.
- Select Manual.
- Select Primary DNS.
- Hold down the B Button to delete the existing DNS (it defaults to zeros).
- Enter 8.8.8.8 as the primary DNS, and then select OK.
Important: The suggested DNS are public DNS provided by Google and are subject to Google's Terms of Service. If you prefer to not use this service, doing an Internet search for public DNS will provide you with several other options you can use.
- Select Secondary DNS.
- Hold down the B Button to delete the existing DNS.
- Enter 8.8.4.4 as the secondary DNS, and then select OK.

- Connect to a different wireless band if your router supports both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequency bands.
