Note
- The Wii U Pro Controller uses the Wii U Pro Controller USB cable (model WUP-018) to charge it.
- The optimal charging temperature is between 50 degrees and 95 degrees Fahrenheit (10 degrees to 35 degrees Celsius).
- It can take up to 4.5 hours to charge the Wii U Pro Controller. This time will vary if the Wii U Pro Controller is being used.
- Once fully charged, the battery will remain charged for 80 hours depending on use.
Complete these steps
- Ensure that the Wii U console is turned on.
- The Wii U Pro Controller will not charge if the Wii U console is turned off.
- Make sure that the USB connector plug is facing in the correct direction before inserting it into the USB port.
- Connect the Wii U Pro Controller USB cable (model WUP-018) to both the controller and the Wii U console. Nintendo does not recommend using alternative devices, such as a PC, to charge the controller.
- Make sure all plugs are inserted straight and all the way into the connectors.
- The battery LED will light orange when the battery is charging.
