How to Change, Remove, or Download a Nintendo 3DS Theme

In this article, you'll learn how to change or remove a theme applied to your HOME Menu.

Note: An SD Card is required to use themes. The SD Card must also have enough free space to download the theme.

Complete these steps

While on the HOME Menu, tap the HOME Menu Settings button. This button is located in the top left of the HOME Menu. It appears as a picture of a home and wrench. If you do not see this icon, it likely means the system needs to be updated.
Select Change Theme.

What do you want to do? Change a theme Remove a theme Download a theme that was previously purchased
Scroll down and select the theme you would like to apply.

Scroll to the bottom and select Do not use a theme.
1. Select Theme Shop at the top of the list.
2. Scroll down to Theme Collection.
  - If prompted, enter your Nintendo Network ID password, then tap OK.
3. Select the theme you would like to download.
4. Tap Download.
5. Review the space requirements and then tap Download again.
6. Tap OK on the confirmation screen, exit the shop.
7. You will now be able to change to the downloaded theme.
