How to Change Nintendo Network ID Information (E-Mail Address, Gender, Region, Etc)

Nintendo 3DS, Wii U

In this article, you'll learn how to update information associated to a Nintendo Network ID.

You can edit your Nintendo Network information through a Wii U or Nintendo 3DS family system.

  • The Wii U can support up to twelve Nintendo Network IDs at once.
  • Nintendo 3DS family systems can only support one Nintendo Network ID at a time. However, you can format the system to deactivate the current NNID and create a new one. (The existing account and purchases will not be deleted, and can still be re-linked to the same system in the future.)

Complete these steps

  1. Which system are you using to change your Nintendo Network information?
    1. On the Wii U Menu, select the Mii character in the upper-left corner to access the User Settings.
    2. Select Change User Information.
    3. Enter the password associated to your Nintendo Network ID, then select OK.
    4. Choose from the following, to view or update the information associated to the Nintendo Network account:
      • Edit Personal Information

Update the gender, state and time zone. View the birthdate and country. These cannot be changed.
