Error Code: 003-1100 - 003-1199

Nintendo 3DS

The information in this article can help you when:

  • You're unable to connect to a wireless access point/wireless router, and receive an error code between 003-1100 and 003-1199.
  • You receive the error message "Could not connect to the access point."

This error code indicates that the Nintendo 3DS family system was unable to complete a connection to the access point, and may appear due to the following errors:

  • The wireless password (security key) is incorrect or was entered incorrectly.
  • The connection test timed out for some reason (e.g. the access point used was unresponsive or a poor wireless signal caused the connection to drop).
  • The Nintendo 3DS family system was unable to obtain an IP address from the access point as the DHCP process failed.

Possible solutions

  • If you're connecting to a guest network that requires you sign-in, open the Nintendo 3DS browser and attempt to sign-in.

Guest networks, or publicly provided networks that require you to sign in or accept a terms of service, may be compatible with the Nintendo 3DS. If you open the Internet browser after creating a connection file that failed, you may then be redirected to a sign in screen.

If you are using a network Internet connection that requires sign-in, but you're not prompted when opening the Nintendo 3DS browser, please work with the Network Administrator for further assistance in connecting online.

  • Power cycle your network.

If your connection worked before but recently stopped, power cycling may resolve this issue.

  • If supported by your wireless router/access point, create a new connection file using Wi-Fi Protected Setup.

Set up a new connection file making sure the Nintendo 3DS family system is attempting to connect to the appropriate wireless network and is receiving a strong wireless signal.

  • Manually enter the IP address into Nintendo 3DS connection settings.

If your Nintendo 3DS family system is unable to obtain the appropriate IP address and DNS from your network, manually entering these into the system may allow you to connect online.
