How to Visit a Dream Island (Pokémon Pokopia)
Follow these steps to visit a Dream Island in Pokémon Pokopia.
Information
Dream Islands are unique areas where you can explore and gather additional resources. The items you can find are different on each island, and you may even find different items going to the same island on multiple days.
To visit a Dream Island, you must befriend Drifloon and complete their habitat, then find a doll for them. Different dolls will lead to different Dream Islands. Drifloon in your town can only bring you to one Dream Island per day, but you can return to that same island as many times as you want. If you visit a Cloud Island that also has Drifloon, they keep track separately from Drifloon in your town.
Complete these steps
- Start the Pokémon Pokopia software from the HOME Menu.
- Press the A Button on the title screen.
- Interact with any doll that's been placed in the area and select Yes to summon Drifloon. If Drifloon is already nearby and you have a doll in your bag, you can talk to them directly instead.
- The first time you interact with a doll, you’ll be prompted to review some additional information about summoning Drifloon. Press the B button after you're done reading.
- Select I wanna go to a Dream Island. If you have a doll in your bag, select one to show to Drifloon.
- The second time you try to visit a Dream Island, you’ll be prompted to review some additional information about how you can only visit one Dream Island per day. Press the B button after you're done reading.
- Drifloon will show you a preview of what you can find on the island. Select Yep! That’s fine!
- If this is your first time visiting a Dream Island, you’ll be prompted to review some additional information about Dream Islands. Press the B button after you're done reading.
- During Link Play, other players will receive a prompt asking if they also want to go. Select Yes to go together, or No to stay behind.
- Drifloon will take you to the island to explore.
- When you're ready to return home, talk to Drifloon, then select Yeah when asked if you want to head back.
Additional information
You can also visit a Dream Island with your friends during a Link Play session while in Palette Town or on a Cloud Island. Spectator Mode must be turned off when playing in Palette Town.
- When one player tries to go to a Dream Island, each other player in the session can choose whether they want to go together. For players who stay behind, it's not possible to visit the Dream island until the other players return. During GameShare, the guest player will always go with the host player.
- When multiple players are on a Dream Island and one player wants to leave, all players must agree to leave together.
- If the host player tries to travel to another town, any players visiting a Dream Island will be prompted to return from the Dream Island and go together with the host.
