Cloud Island Guide (Pokémon Pokopia)

Complete these steps

• How to create a new Cloud Island
  1. Start Pokémon Pokopia from the HOME Menu.
  2. Press the A Button on the title screen.
  3. Access the PC and select Link Play.
     • If this is your first time using Link Play, read the important notes, select Understood, then review the information about playing with others.
  4. Select Play on a Cloud Island.
     • If this is your first time using this feature, read additional important information about Link Play, then select OK. You'll also be presented with an overview of how Cloud Islands work. When you're finished reading it, press the B Button.
  5. Select Create a new Cloud Island.
  6. Select Generate a random Cloud Island to randomly create the terrain and other features, or select Generate via magic number and enter a 9 digit number.
  7. Enter a name for the island.
  8. Decide the following settings. These can be changed at a later time using the steps in How to adjust Cloud Island settings below.
     • Share with Others: Decide whether other players can play on the island.
     • Enable Virtual Mode: Decide whether other players can view the island in Virtual Mode, preventing them from making any changes to the island.
     • Set Link Code: Decide whether to require players to enter a Link Code to join. This code is randomly generated when the setting is enabled, and the owner doesn't have to enter it to join.
     • Display Link Code: Decide whether the Link Code will be displayed or hidden in menus while playing on the island.
     • Change Link Code: If you decided to require a Link Code, you can select Change to randomly create a new Link Code.
     • Allow Link Code Saving: If you decided to require a Link Code, you can allow players who have visited before to save the Link Code so it's easier for them to join the next time.
  9. After deciding on the settings, press the + Button to confirm, and select Yes.
  10. The island's name and address will be displayed. Select Yes to create the Cloud Island.
  11. You will be transported to the newly made Cloud Island.
  12. When you're ready to return to your own town, press the + Button to open the Pokédex, press the - Button to end the session, then select Yes.
      • You can also end the session by accessing the PC, selecting Link Play, then Go Back Home, then Yes.
      • All items currently in your bag will be stored in the Cloud Island's PC.
      • If you are currently the host and there are other players on the island right now, you will be prompted to designate another player currently on the island as the host, or end the session and send everyone home.
• How to delete your Cloud Island

  Important

  • If you manually saved a backup of your island previously, you can restore this backup even after deleting the island.
  • If you keep track of the magic number for the island before you delete it, you can use that to recreate the island the way it was originally generated.

  1. Start Pokémon Pokopia from the HOME Menu.
  2. Press the A Button on the title screen.
  3. Access the PC and select Link Play.
  4. Select Check Settings.
  5. Select Cloud Island Settings.
  6. Scroll to the bottom and select Delete.
  7. The island information will be displayed. Select Delete again, then select Yes to confirm.
• How to view or adjust Cloud Island settings
  1. Start Pokémon Pokopia from the HOME Menu.
  2. Press the A Button on the title screen.
  3. Access the PC and select Link Play.
  4. Select Check Settings.
  5. Select Cloud Island Settings.
  6. The following settings can be viewed or adjusted:
     • Cloud Island Name: Change the name of your Cloud Island.
     • Share with Others: Decide whether other players can play on the island.
     • Enable Virtual Mode: Decide whether other players can view the island in Virtual Mode, preventing them from making any changes to the island.
     • Set Link Code: Decide whether to require players to enter a Link Code to join. This code is randomly generated when the setting is enabled, and the owner doesn't have to enter it to join.
     • Display Link Code: Decide whether the Link Code will be displayed or hidden in menus while playing on the island.
     • Change Link Code: If you decided to require a Link Code, you can select Change to randomly create a new Link Code.
     • Allow Link Code Saving: If you decided to require a Link Code, you can allow players who have visited before to save the Link Code so it's easier for them to join the next time.
     • Address: View the address for your Cloud Island. Give this address to players you want to play with on the island.
     • Magic Number: View the magic number used to generate the island.
  7. If you made any changes, press the + Button to save them, select Change, then select Yes to confirm.
     • If any players happen to be on the island when you adjust the settings, the group will be disbanded and they'll have to visit again.
• How to play on a Cloud Island

  Please follow our steps for how to use multiplayer on a Cloud Island.

• How to visit a Cloud Island using Virtual Mode

  With Virtual Mode, you can visit a virtual version of a Cloud Island where your actions won't affect the real Cloud Island. You must raise your Environment Level to 3 and purchase the "Mysterious goggles" item from the PC Shop to use this feature.

  1. Start Pokémon Pokopia from the HOME Menu.
  2. Press the A Button on the title screen.
  3. Press the X Button to open your bag, select the Mysterious goggles item, then press the A Button to use them.
     • If this is your first time using this feature, you'll be presented with an overview of Virtual Mode. When you're finished reading it, press the B Button.
  4. When asked if you'd like to put them on, select Yes.
  5. Enter the address of the Cloud Island you wish to view.
  6. The destination will be displayed. Select Yes to view the island.
  7. When you're ready to return to your own town, press the + Button to open the Pokédex, press the - Button to go back home, then select Return Home.
     • You can also end the session by accessing the PC and selecting Return Home.
• How to save a backup of your Cloud Island

  Important

  • You can only have one backup of your Cloud Island saved at a time. Backups must be saved manually and cannot be done automatically.
  • You can only save a backup of the Cloud Island you made, not another player's island that you visited.

  1. Start Pokémon Pokopia from the HOME Menu.
  2. Press the A Button on the title screen.
  3. Access the PC and select Link Play.
  4. Select Check Settings.
  5. Select Cloud Island Settings.
  6. Press the R Button to change to the Cloud Island Backup menu.
  7. Select Save.
  8. You'll be prompted to delete any existing backup data already on the console. Select Yes.
  9. Once the backup is completed, you can add a note to the backup data. Select Yes, enter your note, then confirm and select Yes again.
• How to restore a backup of your Cloud Island

  Important

  • To restore a backup of a Cloud Island, you must have first manually saved a backup of the Cloud Island using the steps above. Backups are not automatically saved.
  • You can only restore a backup once per day.

  1. Start Pokémon Pokopia from the HOME Menu.
  2. Press the A Button on the title screen.
  3. Access the PC and select Link Play.
  4. Select Check Settings.
  5. Select Cloud Island Settings.
  6. Press the R Button to change to the Cloud Island Backup menu.
  7. Select Restore, then review the island backup information and select Restore again.
  8. You'll be prompted to end the session for anyone currently playing on the island. Select Yes.
  9. The backup will be restored.
