Nintendo Switch Slides Down in Virtual Boy (Cardboard Model)

Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch - OLED Model

Use this article if you are using your Nintendo Switch with the cardboard model of the Virtual Boy and it keeps sliding down inside the accessory, or it moves and the image becomes blurry.

Information

The Virtual Boy (Cardboard Model) is made to support the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch – OLED Model. A small latch on the accessory can be moved up or down, based on the console being used. Since the accessory is made of cardboard, it is important that the latch is folded sufficiently to bear the weight of the Nintendo Switch, otherwise it may come unfolded, causing the console to shift.

What to do

  1. Detach at least one Joy-Con. Image showing the Joy Con release button being highlighted while the Joy Con is attached to the Nintendo Switch console. Image showing the right Joy Con sliding off and detaching from the Nintendo Switch console.
  2. Slide the console out of the Virtual Boy.
  3. Push the latch that holds the console in place to the up position. Image highlighting the latch that holds the console in place in the Virtual Boy (Cardboard Model). The down position supports the Nintendo Switch 2, while the up position supports the Nintendo Switch.
  4. Re-insert the console into the Virtual Boy.
  5. Continue to use the accessory, and be careful when placing the accessory down. Too much force could cause the latch to unfold again.
