Understanding Your Virtual Boy Accessories

What to do

• How to set up Virtual Boy for Nintendo Switch 2
  1. Find the notch at the top of the Virtual Boy.
  2. Use the notch to open the console cover at the top of the Virtual Boy.
  3. Detach any Joy-Con 2 controllers from your Nintendo Switch 2 console.
     • You will need to use compatible controllers wirelessly.
  4. Insert your console into the Virtual Boy, with the screen facing the lens side of the accessory.
  5. Close the console cover of the Virtual Boy over your console.
     • There may be a sound when closing the console cover. This is normal.
  6. Attach the Virtual Boy to the stand.
  7. Adjust the stand to your comfort level with the angle-adjustment knob.

  The Virtual Boy is now ready to use with the Virtual Boy - Nintendo Classics game library on your Nintendo Switch 2.

• How to set up Virtual Boy for Nintendo Switch
  1. Unscrew and remove the Nintendo Switch 2 attachment bracket on the bottom side of the Virtual Boy.
     • The Virtual Boy will come with the Nintendo Switch 2 attachment bracket pre-installed.
  2. Install the Nintendo Switch attachment bracket to the Virtual Boy using the included screws.
  3. Find the notch at the top of the Virtual Boy.
  4. Use the notch to open the console cover at the top of the Virtual Boy.
  5. Detach any Joy-Con from your console.
     • You will need to use compatible controllers wirelessly.
  6. Insert your console into the Virtual Boy, with the screen facing the lens side of the accessory.
  7. Close the console cover of the Virtual Boy over your console.
  8. Attach the Virtual Boy to the stand.
  9. Adjust the stand to your comfort level with the angle-adjustment knob.

  The Virtual Boy is now ready to use with the Virtual Boy - Nintendo Classics game library on your Nintendo Switch.

• How to remove the eye shade
  1. Remove the Virtual Boy from the stand using the release button.
  2. Find the notch at the top of the Virtual Boy.
  3. Use the notch to open the console cover at the top of the Virtual Boy.
  4. Find the two pegs at the top of Virtual Boy, where the eye shade attaches to the headset. Pull the eye shade off of the mounting posts. Be gentle when removing to prevent tearing.
  5. Turn the Virtual Boy over and find where the eye shade attaches to the bottom, near the nose piece.
  6. Pull the eye shade from the groove of the Virtual Boy to finish removing.
• How to attach the eye shade
  1. Remove the Virtual Boy from the stand using the release button.
  2. Find the notch at the top of the Virtual Boy.
  3. Use the notch to open the console cover at the top of the Virtual Boy.
  4. Find the two pegs at the top of Virtual Boy, where the eye shade attaches to the headset. Attach the eye shade to each of the pegs. Be gentle when attaching to prevent tearing.
  5. Slide the eye shade into place using the grooves on the left and right sides of the Virtual Boy.
  6. Turn the Virtual Boy over and find where the eye shade attaches to the bottom, near the nose piece.
  7. Insert the ends of the eye shade into the grooves at the bottom of the Virtual Boy.
• How to set up Virtual Boy (Cardboard Model) for Nintendo Switch 2
  1. Push the latch that holds the console in place to the down position.
  2. Detach a Joy-Con 2 from one side of your console.
  3. Insert your console into the Virtual Boy, with the screen facing the lens side of the accessory, leading with the side without the Joy-Con 2.
     • Line up the ends of the console body up with the ends of the Virtual Boy accessory to ensure it's in place. The placement of the audio jack varies per console model so it shouldn't be used as a guide.
  4. Reattach the Joy-Con 2 once the console is in place.

  The Virtual Boy (Cardboard Model) is now ready to use with the Virtual Boy - Nintendo Classics game library on your Nintendo Switch 2.

  1. Push the latch that holds the console in place to the up position.
  2. Detach a Joy-Con from one side of your console.
  3. Insert your console into the Virtual Boy, with the screen facing the lens side of the accessory, leading with the side without the Joy-Con.
     • Line up the ends of the console body up with the ends of the Virtual Boy accessory to ensure it's in place. The placement of the audio jack varies per console model so it shouldn't be used as a guide.
  4. Reattach the Joy-Con once the console is in place.
