Note
- Ensure your system has the latest system update as system menu version 6.0.0-0U or higher is required to use the Save-Data Backup feature.
- The Save-Data Backup feature allows you to back up save data from downloadable Nintendo 3DS software and most Virtual Console games.
- You cannot back up save data from retail versions of Nintendo 3DS software, DSiWare, and GameBoy Advance software.
- You can create a total of 30 save data backups.
- Backups of save data are stored on the SD card inserted into your system.

Complete these steps
You can back up save data from the HOME Menu or when deleting downloaded software.
To back up save data from the HOME Menu
- Tap on the software with the save data you wish to back up.
- Slide the triangle icon, located in the bottom left corner, to the right.
- If the triangle is not displayed, this indicates you cannot back up this software's save data from the HOME Menu.

- Select Save-Data Backup.
To back up save data when deleting downloaded software
- From the HOME Menu, tap System Settings, and then Open.
- Tap Data Management.
- Tap Nintendo 3DS, and then tap Software.
- Select the software you wish to delete, and then tap Delete.

- Tap Create Save-Data Backup and Delete Software.

- Tap Create.
