The information in this article can help you when the wireless password entered is not a valid WEP key.
Important: If you are attempting to connect Nintendo DS or Nintendo DSi games online, please note that this service has been discontinued.
Possible solutions
- Check your wireless password and ensure it is a valid WEP key. Valid WEP keys meet the following requirements:
- Either 10 or 26 digits long
- Only contains numbers 0-9 and letters A-F
Situation not resolved
If you would like to continue troubleshooting your network, please contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or network administrator for further assistance with performing the following steps:
- If your wireless network password does not meet these requirements, it is not a standard WEP key. If you wish to connect a Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite to your network, this key will need to be changed to a 64-bit or 128-bit WEP key.
- Any changes to your network password should be made using a PC connected to your router via an Ethernet cable.
- After changing your network's wireless password, any wireless devices connected to the network will need to have their password settings updated.
