Unable to Access DLC (Donkey Kong Bananza)
Follow these steps if you purchased the DK Island & Emerald Rush DLC for Donkey Kong Bananza, but the additional content is not appearing in-game.
Before you start
You must make a certain amount of progress in the game before the DLC can be accessed.
- If you have not cleared the main game yet, you can go to DK Island by talking to Squawks at the Racing Layer.
- If you have cleared the main game, you can go to DK Island by striking the Warp Gong after hearing about the "Bananza Rehearsal" from the Elder.
After reaching DK Island, you can play Emerald Rush by talking to Void Kong.
What to do
- Ensure the console has been updated to the latest system menu version.

How to check for the latest system update
- Select System Settings on the HOME Menu.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the System Settings menu and select System.
- Select System Update to start the system update process.
- The system will check to see if an update is available.

- Ensure the console is connected to the Internet.
- From the HOME Menu, select (but do not start) the icon for the software you wish to update.
- Press the + Button or – Button on your controller, then select Software Update followed by Via the Internet.

How to update game software
- Restart the console. Press the POWER Button for three seconds, and then select Power OptionsOpciones de apagadoOptions d'alimentationOpções de desligar, followed by Restart.
- Open Nintendo eShop with the User that purchased the DLC.
- Search for DK Island & Emerald Rush to confirm that it displays as "Purchased".

A cost is displayed instead of "Purchased"
This means the DLC has not been purchased yet, or another user owns the DLC. Follow our steps for how to purchase content in Nintendo eShop to purchase and download it.

- Select DK Island & Emerald Rush from the search results.
- Select the Virtual Game Cards option on the right.
- Ensure the virtual game card for the DLC is loaded on your system. If you have the Online License setting enabled, you can also download the DLC separately.

- Select your user.
- If prompted, enter your user verification PIN or enter your Nintendo Account password.
- Select the game you want to load from the list of your virtual game cards.

- If not already downloaded, the icon for the game will appear on the HOME Menu and it will begin downloading. Once downloaded, all users on the console where the game is loaded can play the game.

- Select your user icon from the HOME Menu.

- Select the game or DLC you want to redownload from the list of your virtual game cards.

- The game or DLC will begin downloading automatically. You can check the download status on the HOME Menu.

- In the bottom right corner of the title screen, the game version number and DLC version number should both be listed.
- You should be able to travel to DK Island one of two ways, depending on your progress in the game.
- If you have not cleared the main game yet, you can go to DK Island by talking to Squawks at the Racing Layer.
- If you have cleared the main game, you can go to DK Island by striking the Warp Gong after hearing about the "Bananza Rehearsal" from the Elder.
Situation not resolved
If you are still unable to visit DK Island, follow these additional steps depending on whether you have a physical or digital copy of Donkey Kong Bananza.

- Remove the game card.

How to remove a game card from a Nintendo Switch 2 console
Important: Remove a game card only while on the HOME Menu, or when the console is powered off. If you have suspended a software title, make sure you have closed it before removing its game card.
- Open the game card slot cover located on the top right side of your Nintendo Switch 2 console.
- Gently push down on the inserted game card until the card clicks.
- Release the game card and it will partially eject.
- Slide the game card out of the game card slot and close the cover.

- From the HOME Menu, select System Settings.
- Scroll down the options on the left and select Data Management.
- On the right-hand side select Manage Software, then select the software you would like to delete.
- Select Delete Software. The software and icon will be deleted from the HOME Menu. It can be redownloaded using the Nintendo Account that purchased it.

- Reinsert the game card.

How to insert a game card into a Nintendo Switch 2 console
- Open the game card slot cover located on the top right side of your Nintendo Switch 2 console.
- Hold the game card so that the label of the game card faces in the same direction as the Nintendo Switch 2 screen.
- Slide the game card into the game card slot until it clicks into place. If the game card seems difficult to insert, remove it and verify that it is facing in the correct direction.
- Once inserted, the software icon of the inserted game card will be displayed on the HOME Menu.
