How to Update Donkey Kong Bananza

Follow these steps to update Donkey Kong Bananza, or review the software's update history.

Note

On February 24, 2026, a new software update for Donkey Kong Bananza became available for download. Please take a moment to download and install this update while your Nintendo Switch 2 console is connected to the Internet.

Complete these steps

  1. Connect your Nintendo Switch 2 console to the internet.

      1. Place the Nintendo Switch 2 console within 10 feet of the wireless router so there will be a strong wireless signal.

      4. Select the appropriate network name (SSID) from the list.

      6. The connection will be tested. Once the test is complete, select OK.
        • If the connection test fails, an error code and message will appear. Search for our support article on the error code for steps to troubleshoot the connection.

  2. From the HOME Menu, select the icon for the software you wish to update without starting the game or application.
  3. Press the + Button or – Button on your controller. The current version number will display under the software title.
  4. Select Software Update followed by Over the Internet.

    • Added Polish as a supported language. If you set the language to “Polish/English” in the Nintendo Switch 2 system, the text will become Polish.
      • The audio is English.

    [Updated January 28, 2026] Ver 2.0.0 has now been distributed for "Donkey Kong Bananza Demo Version". This applies the same fixes as Ver. 3.1.0 and Ver. 3.0.0 for the full game.

    General

    • Added Thai as a supported language. If you set the language to “Thai/English” in the Nintendo Switch 2 system, the text will become Thai.
      • The audio is English.
    • Added “Camera auto-follow feature” to “Options” in the Pause Menu, and made it so that you can set it ON/OFF.
    • Several other changes have been made and issues addressed to improve the gameplay experience.

    • Fixed the issue causing Pauline's voice not to play at times when acquiring a fossil in Ver. 2.0.0 and Ver. 2.0.1.

  • Ver. 2.0.1 (Released September 23, 2025)

    Fixed Issues

    • Fixed issue where the player could not get a disc as a reward for collecting all the balloons in Bananza Rehearsal.
      • If the above issue is occurring in the game in Ver. 2.0.0 or earlier, the player will be able to get the disc right after the stage starts by entering Bananza Rehearsal after downloading this update data.
    • Fixed issue where some of Pauline’s shout voices would not play when language setting of the Nintendo Switch 2 system is “English (UK/Australia)” and travel buddy’s voice (Pauline’s voice) in “Options” has its “voice language” set to “Same as system.”
    • Several other changes have been made and issues addressed to improve the gameplay experience.
  • Ver. 2.0.0 (Released September 12, 2025)

    General

    • Added support for the paid DLC DK Island & Emerald Rush.
      • If you have not cleared the main game yet, you can go to DK Island by talking to Squawks at the Racing Layer.
      • If you have cleared the main game, you can go to DK Island by striking the Warp Gong after hearing about the “Bananza Rehearsal” from the Elder.
      • After reaching DK Island, you can play Emerald Rush by talking to Void Kong.
    • The number of Banandium Chips that can be stored has been increased from 9,999 to 99,999.
    • Several other changes have been made and issues addressed to improve the gameplay experience.
  • Ver. 1.1.0 (Released July 16, 2025)

    General

    • “GameShare (Local User)” and “GameShare (GameChat)” options added for “Co-op Play” in the Pause menu.
    • Various adjustments have been made to create a more comfortable gameplay experience.
