How to Update Donkey Kong Bananza

Follow these steps to update Donkey Kong Bananza, or review the software's update history.
Note
- Save data will still be available for use after downloading the update.
- The update will download and install automatically if the console is connected to the Internet and the Software Auto-Updates setting is enabled on your Nintendo Switch 2 console. To ensure you have space to download the update, please review our storage tips for Nintendo Switch 2.
On February 24, 2026, a new software update for Donkey Kong Bananza became available for download. Please take a moment to download and install this update while your Nintendo Switch 2 console is connected to the Internet.

- Connect your Nintendo Switch 2 console to the internet.

How to connect Nintendo Switch 2 to a wireless home network
- Place the Nintendo Switch 2 console within 10 feet of the wireless router so there will be a strong wireless signal.
- Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
- Select Internet, and then Internet SettingsConfiguración de internetParamètres InternetConfigurações de internet. Your console will automatically search for nearby wireless network signals.
- Select the appropriate network name (SSID) from the list.
- Use the onscreen keyboard to enter the network's wireless password, if one is required.
- The connection will be tested. Once the test is complete, select OK.
- If the connection test fails, an error code and message will appear. Search for our support article on the error code for steps to troubleshoot the connection.

How to connect Nintendo Switch 2 to a wireless home network
- From the HOME Menu, select the icon for the software you wish to update without starting the game or application.
- Press the + Button or – Button on your controller. The current version number will display under the software title.
- Select Software Update followed by Over the Internet.

Fixed Issues
- Fixed issue where the player could not get a disc as a reward for collecting all the balloons in Bananza Rehearsal.
- If the above issue is occurring in the game in Ver. 2.0.0 or earlier, the player will be able to get the disc right after the stage starts by entering Bananza Rehearsal after downloading this update data.
- Fixed issue where some of Pauline’s shout voices would not play when language setting of the Nintendo Switch 2 system is “English (UK/Australia)” and travel buddy’s voice (Pauline’s voice) in “Options” has its “voice language” set to “Same as system.”

- If you have not cleared the main game yet, you can go to DK Island by talking to Squawks at the Racing Layer.
- If you have cleared the main game, you can go to DK Island by striking the Warp Gong after hearing about the “Bananza Rehearsal” from the Elder.
- After reaching DK Island, you can play Emerald Rush by talking to Void Kong.
- The number of Banandium Chips that can be stored has been increased from 9,999 to 99,999.
