How to Use ZELDA NOTES in the Nintendo Switch App

Information

ZELDA NOTES is a service that is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 Editions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required to use the Nintendo Switch App or ZELDA NOTES.

The following features are included:

Voice Memories

When you visit certain locations in the game, you can listen to commentary about your surroundings from Zelda and some other characters. Even if you've been to those parts of Hyrule before, you might want to revisit to hear what they have to say!

Navigation

You can check the achievement rate for each element, such as clearing shrines and discovering Koroks. By selecting a marker on the map, the app can direct you towards it through voice navigation. The map on your smart device will also update with your in-game position every few seconds while using this feature.

This feature can also be used to find Voice Memory locations.

My Play Data

See detailed information about your play, such as the number of game overs, how many enemies you've defeated so far, and more. You can even earn in-app medals for reaching certain milestones!

Global Play Data

See how your stats compare with others from across the globe—you might discover something new about the way you play!

Daily Bonus

Test your luck once per day in ZELDA NOTES. Get hearts, weapons, or other effects based on the result.

amiibo

You can use compatible amiibo figures (sold separately) from the Legend of Zelda series to obtain in-game items once per day in both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. With ZELDA NOTES, after you scan a compatible amiibo figure five times, you will be rewarded with a bonus use of that figure that day.

Photo Studio

Pictures saved in your in-game Album in either game can be sent to ZELDA NOTES to edit in Photo Studio. You can crop photos and add various stamps or frames, and then attach these photos to QR Codes used to share items or Autobuild schematics.

Item Sharing

You can upload items from either game to ZELDA NOTES and share them with other players using QR Codes.

Note: Some items from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will be converted to other items when received in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

Autobuild Sharing

You can create QR Codes to share schematics for Autobuild creations, and scan QR Codes created by other players to receive their shared schematics. This feature is only available when using ZELDA NOTES with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.
