Transferring Digital Games and Nintendo Accounts Between Nintendo Switch 2 Consoles
Information on moving digital software purchases, Nintendo Accounts, and/or save data from one Nintendo Switch 2 console to another.
Note: A full system transfer from one Nintendo Switch 2 console to another can be performed, but will delete all information from the original console. For more information, see System Transfers to Nintendo Switch 2.

Do you have access to both Nintendo Switch 2 consoles?

Yes, I have both consoles
Just sign in to your Nintendo Account on the new console and redownload your digital games.
- If you intend to use both consoles, please see our information on virtual game cards instead.
You can also Transfer Your Save Data from one console to another, including save data for games that do not support Save Data Cloud backup..
- Once this process is complete, the save data is removed from the original console after being transferred to the second console.

No, I only have the new console
If you do not have access to the original console, you can log in to your Nintendo Account on the new console and redownload your digital games.
- Game save data that was backed up using the Cloud Save Data backup feature of Nintendo Switch Online can be redownloaded on the second console if your membership is still active.
