How To Identify If a Game Supports Save Data Cloud Backup
Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch - OLED Model
Follow these steps to identify if a Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch game supports Save Data Cloud Backup.
Note
- A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to utilize the Save Data Cloud service.
- Save data for Nintendo Switch software that is also compatible with Nintendo Switch 2 can be backed up and downloaded on either system. If the software has any added features or content on Nintendo Switch 2, such as through a free update or a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack, it will not be made accessible when that same save data is used on Nintendo Switch.
You can identify software that supports save data backup in the following ways:
- From the Nintendo eShop
Select a game in the Nintendo eShop and scroll down to view the Software Details. It is listed next to "Save Data Cloud Backup".
- From the Nintendo Store
Go to https://www.nintendo.com/store/games/ and view the "About this item" section. If Save Data Cloud is supported, it is listed next to "Nintendo Switch Online".
- From the game's Software Menu Options
If you already own the game, go to the software menu options on Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch, and select Save Data Cloud.
- If this feature is supported, you will have the option to select a user and back up your game progress.
- If this feature is not supported, it will be indicated.
