GameChat lets you connect with friends and chat while you play.

Use GameChat to play and chat together with your friends online! GameChat supports voice chat using the built-in microphone, as well as video chat with compatible USB video cameras. You can share your screen to others within the room, and in supported software, use the GameShare feature to allow other users to play your game together with you even if they don’t own it.

You can still play the Nintendo Switch games you've purchased.

In addition to games exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 system, Nintendo Switch 2 can also play Nintendo Switch games. However, certain Nintendo Switch games may not be supported on or fully compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2 system.

You can upload your captured screenshots and videos and look at them using a smartphone or tablet.

You can upload screenshots and videos of your gameplay from the Nintendo Switch 2 Album to the Nintendo Switch App for smart devices. From the app, you can also download or share items you uploaded.

Joy-Con controllers for Nintendo Switch can still be used with the Nintendo Switch 2 system if they're connected wirelessly.

Nintendo Switch Joy-Con can be connected wirelessly for use on Nintendo Switch 2. Additionally, the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller can still be connected wirelessly, and can be charged by connecting to the Nintendo Switch 2 dock via a USB cable.

You can use parental controls to set up gameplay restrictions.

Parental Controls allow you to manage your child’s experience on Nintendo Switch 2. Notable options include playtime limits, software age rating restrictions, play activity summaries, and approval requests for various GameChat features. Some restrictions are available through the on-device settings, but the most robust features are made available by linking the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls smart device app to your Nintendo Switch 2 console.
