How to Play Together via GameShare
Nintendo Switch 2
Follow these steps to play games with other users through GameShare.
Note: The steps to start a GameShare session, supported modes, and number of players are different depending on the game. For details about GameShare with a specific game, search for how to start multiplayer with that game.
Before you start
- A Nintendo Switch 2 console is required to host a GameShare session. You can join another player’s session from a Nintendo Switch 2 console (local wireless or over the internet) or from a Nintendo Switch console (local wireless only).
- All participating consoles must have the latest system update installed in order to use GameShare.

How to check for the latest system update
- Select System Settings on the HOME Menu.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the System Settings menu and select System.
- Select System Update to start the system update process.
- The system will check to see if an update is available.

Host a GameShare session via local wireless

Join a GameShare session via local wireless
- Select the GameShare icon on the HOME Menu.
- Select Join GameShare.
- Select A Local User.
- Select the user you want to join the GameShare session with.
- The console will search for nearby sessions you can join. Once you’ve found the session you want, select Join GameShare.
- After all participating members have joined, the host will start the session.
- Select the GameShare icon on the HOME Menu.

- Start or join a GameChat room.

Join a GameShare session over the internet through GameChat
- Start or join a GameChat room.
- Once the host invites you, press the
C Button

- On the right, select See Invites to GameShare.
- You can also view available GameShare sessions by selecting the GameShare icon on the HOME Menu, then selecting A User in a GameChat Session.
- Select Join GameShare.
- After all participating members have joined, the host will start the session.
