- The motion controls on the Joy-Con 2 such as tilt or shake are not responding correctly.
- You are unable to calibrate the motion controls on the Joy-Con 2.
What to do
- Ensure your console has the latest system update installed.

- Select the System Settings on the HOME Menu.
- Scroll down through the System Settings menu and select System.
- Select System Update, to start the system update process.
- During the process, the system will first perform a check to determine if a new system update is available.
- If an update is available, the download process will begin automatically.
- Select the System Settings on the HOME Menu.

- Ensure your console has the latest system update installed.
- Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
- Scroll down to Controllers & Accessories.
- In the Controllers & Accessories options, scroll down and select Update Controllers to begin updating any controllers that are powered on and paired with the console.
- If multiple controllers are paired to the console, the controllers will be updated one controller at a time.
- If the update stops before it can be completed, try this step again.

How to update controller firmware on Nintendo Switch 2
- Reset the Joy-Con 2 by pressing the SYNC Button once. Then press any other button to power on the Joy-Con 2 again.
- Calibrate the motion controls on the Joy-Con 2.
- Verify that the software or application you are using supports motion controls.
- Some games, such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, require the motion controls to be activated manually.
- Confirm that the dock is connected using a Ultra High Speed HDMI cable.
- The HDMI cable included with the console is an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable.
- If the HDMI cable being used is not an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable, swap it out for a supported HDMI cable.
Situation not resolved
If the motion controls are not responding with any supported software, or if the motion control calibration fails, then the non-working Joy-Con 2 controller(s) will need to be serviced.
- If only one Joy-Con 2 needs to come in for service, specify if it is the left or right controller.
