The Nintendo Switch 2 Console Cannot Find Your Wireless Network
This article can help when:
- You can't connect your Nintendo Switch 2 console online because your wireless network was not found.
- After searching for wireless networks, your network is not listed under "Found Networks."
- The MAC address on the system is displayed primarily as zeroes.
Before you start
Remove your Nintendo Switch 2 console from the dock and bring it within 10 to 15 feet of the wireless router to improve signal strength during troubleshooting.
Possible solutions
- Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.

- Move any metal objects or electronic devices away from your console and wireless router. This includes filing cabinets, speakers, power strips, glass, or cordless phones that may interfere with wireless signals. Press the Y Button to search for networks again in the Internet Settings menu.
- Manually set up an Internet connection on the Nintendo Switch system. Your network's broadcast name may be hidden, but you may still be able to connect to it this way.

- Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
- Select Internet, and then Internet Settings.
- The console will automatically search for near-by Wi-Fi signals.
- Scroll to the bottom of the networks listed under Networks Found, and select Manual Setup.
- Select from the following options

Important:When manually creating an Internet connection, it is only required that you update the SSID setting. All other settings can be updated, or left to their default settings, depending on what is required for your network.
- Network Name
Enter the nickname you want to give this network connection within the Internet settings, such as "Living Room" or "Grandma's House". If you leave this field blank, your router's SSID will be used as the network name.
- SSID
Enter the SSID (broadcast name) of the wireless router you are connecting to. If you don't know your router's SSID, please contact your Internet Service Provider and follow our tips to find it.
- Security
Enter the router's security type and wireless password. If you don't know this information, please contact your Internet Service Provider and follow our tips to find it.
- IP Address Settings
Select AutomaticModo automáticoAutoModo automático (recommended for most home networks) to automatically obtain IP address settings from the router. If your network requires it, select Manual and enter the appropriate network IP address, subnet mask, and gateway. Your Internet Service Provider and our tips on finding your network's IP information can help with this.
- DNS Settings
Select AutomaticModo automáticoAutoModo automático (recommended for most home networks) to automatically obtain DNS settings from the router. If your network requires it, select Manual and enter the appropriate Primary and Secondary DNS. Your Internet Service Provider can help with this, or you can enter Google's public DNS.
- Proxy Settings
Select Off (recommended for most home networks) if you are not connecting through a proxy. Otherwise, select Yes and enter the appropriate info for the proxy server, port, and auto-authentication. Your Internet Service Provider can help you determine this information, if needed.
- MTU
Keep the MTU at the default value of 1400 (recommended for most home networks), or enter the appropriate MTU value for your network, if needed. Your Internet Service Provider can help you determine this information.
- Connect to a Hidden Network
Select On (recommended) to allow the Nintendo Switch console to connect to hidden networks, which are networks that do not broadcast their SSID, or select Off to not allow this.
- Network Name
- Select Save.
- Select Connect to this Network to test the saved connection, or select BackAtrásRetourVoltar to return to the Internet settings.

- Connect to the Internet at a different access point or location, such as a friend or family member's home, or a retailer with a public network.

- Place the Nintendo Switch 2 console within 10 feet of the wireless router so there will be a strong wireless signal.

Console connects at a different location
If you still can't find your wireless network, this may indicate an issue related to the network environment or wireless router being used.
If you'd like to continue troubleshooting your network, please contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or network administrator for help with the following steps:
- Checking that your router's wireless security key setting is compatible with Nintendo Switch 2.
- The Nintendo Switch 2 console supports WPA3, WPA-PSK(AES), WPA2-PSK (AES). If your router is using a different security type (e.g. WEP), change this security type within your router's settings.
Important: If you change the security settings of your wireless router, then you may also be required to update the security settings for the wireless devices that connect to your router.
- Reviewing the settings of the wireless router, and checking that the SSID (network name) broadcast option is enabled.
- If the broadcast option is disabled, it is invisible to devices searching for nearby networks. Enable this option on the wireless router or manually set up an Internet connection.
