Download of Software or Update Data is Stuck or Will Not Progress on Nintendo Switch 2

Follow these steps if download progress does not begin, is paused, or appears stuck when downloading software on Nintendo Switch 2.
Note: Some games and software will pause downloads when they are being played. This is generally done to ensure the best experience when using a game's online features and services.

- Ensure your console has an active Internet connection.

- Place the Nintendo Switch 2 console within 10 feet of the wireless router so there will be a strong wireless signal.
- Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
- Select Internet, and then Internet SettingsConfiguración de internetParamètres InternetConfigurações de internet. Your console will automatically search for nearby wireless network signals.
- Select the appropriate network name (SSID) from the list.
- Use the onscreen keyboard to enter the network's wireless password, if one is required.
- The connection will be tested. Once the test is complete, select OK.

How to create a wired Internet connection on Nintendo Switch 2
Important: The Nintendo Switch 2 console must be docked to be able to connect online using the wired connection type.
- Connect an Ethernet cable to the Nintendo Switch 2 dock and then connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to your router or gateway.
- Place the Nintendo Switch 2 console into the dock.
- On the console, select System Settings on the HOME Menu.
- Select Internet, and then Internet SettingsConfiguración de internetParamètres InternetConfigurações de internet. Your console will automatically search for nearby wireless network signals first.
- Once the option is available, select Wired ConnectionConexión con cableConnexion par câbleConexão por cabo.
- Select Connect to the Internet via Wired Connection.
- The connection will be tested. Once the test is complete, select OK.
- If the connection test fails, an error code and message will appear, which can help you troubleshoot connection errors.
- We also recommend setting up a wireless internet connection. This enables you to connect online even when your Nintendo Switch 2 is not placed in the dock.

How to connect Nintendo Switch 2 to a wireless home network
- If software is currently being played, save your in-game progress and then close the software.
- Software can be closed from the HOME Menu by highlighting the software title and pressing the X Button.
- Select your user page from the HOME Menu, and then select User Settings, and scroll down and select Update Download Progress.
- If the issue persists, restart the console, and then wait for the console to connect online. Shortly after connecting online, the download should start to progress as long as you have not started any software that may pause the download.
- If the download is progressing slowly, test your console's Internet connection. If you find the download speeds are slower than expected, attempt to resolve any network related issues which may be causing these slow downloads.
