How to Manage Nintendo Account Data Usage Settings

In this article, you'll learn how to manage your preferences for Nintendo Account settings related to the data Nintendo collects about your usage of Nintendo's products and services.

Information

These options allow you to choose how you would like Nintendo to use and share information about your use of our products and services (including your use of the Nintendo Account service). For more information about Nintendo's privacy practices, please review the Nintendo Privacy Policy.

What to do

Go to the Nintendo Account website and sign in to your Nintendo Account.

When signed in you can update your data usage settings, or, if you are the admin in a family group, you can update the settings for any child accounts in the family group.

  • How to update your data usage settings
    1. Select Privacy and Other Settings.
    2. In the "Data Usage - Opt-Out Preferences" section, toggle between allowing or not allowing your information to be shared for the following:
      • Share your usage information with Nintendo to help improve Nintendo products and services? Choose whether or not to allow Nintendo to use and analyze your information to perform analytics, improve our products and services, and provide you with enhanced functionality.
      • Share your usage information with Nintendo to receive personalized offers and recommendations? Choose whether or not to allow Nintendo to use or share your information to provide you with personalized advertisements, recommendations, or other tailored content.
  • How to update the data usage settings for a supervised account
    1. Select Family group.
    2. Select the child account whose data usage settings you want to change.
    3. Scroll down to the "Manage Child Accounts" section.
    4. Select Data Usage - Opt-Out Preferences.
    5. Toggle between allowing or not allowing your information to be shared for the following:
      • Allow sharing of usage information to improve Nintendo's products and services? Choose whether or not to allow Nintendo to use and analyze account information to perform analytics, improve our products and services, and provide you with enhanced functionality.
      • Allow sharing of usage information to receive personalized offers and recommendations? Choose whether or not to allow Nintendo to use or share information to provide the account with personalized advertisements, recommendations, or other tailored content.
