SEGA Genesis Control Pad Does Not Respond Correctly on Nintendo Switch

Information to help you when there is an input lag with the SEGA Genesis Control Pad or the buttons on the SEGA Genesis Control Pad do not respond or respond incorrectly on a Nintendo Switch console

  1. Which system are you using?
    1. Verify that you are using the SEGA Genesis Control Pad, model No. HAC-046. The model number can be found on the back of the controller.
      • If a different accessory is being used, replacing it with the correct controller may resolve the problem.
    2. Verify that you are using the SEGA Genesis – Nintendo Switch Online software.
      • If you are using two SEGA Genesis Control Pads, only player one can navigate the Game Selection menu.
    3. Ensure you have downloaded and installed any available software updates for SEGA Genesis – Nintendo Switch Online prior to starting a game from that library.
    4. If the issue persists, try the following:
      • Ensure your console has the latest system update.

        If the console is already up to date, restart it by holding down the POWER Button for three seconds, then select Power OptionsOpciones de apagadoOptions d'alimentationOpções de desligar and then Restart.

      • Delete the pairing information for any wireless controllers, then pair the SEGA Genesis Control Pad to the console.
      • Reset the SEGA Genesis Control Pad.

        Press the SYNC Button once on the controller, then press any other button on the controller to power it on again.

      • Ensure that the battery charge is not depleted on the SEGA Genesis Control Pad.

        The approximate battery charge will be displayed by going to the HOME Menu and then selecting ControllersControlesManettesControles

      • Check for wireless interference.

        Ensure that the console is not placed behind a TV, under a metal object, or within three to four feet of other wireless devices, such as wireless speakers, cordless phones, etc.

      • Test the Controller buttons.
