How to Remove Previously Downloaded DLC

In this article, you'll learn how to delete DLC, such as language packs, and redownload a game without also redownloading the DLC from the Nintendo Switch eShop.

Information

DLC cannot be deleted independently of the game it is associated with. However, if you delete the game, you can redownload only the game afterwards, without downloading the DLC.

Complete these steps

  1. Make sure your console has the most recent system update.
  2. Highlight the game for which you want to remove DLC from the HOME Menu and press the + Button.
  3. Select Manage Software and then Delete SoftwareBorrar el programaEffacer le logicielApagar o software.
    • This will not delete any Save Data.
  4. Select DeleteBorrarEffacerApagar to continue.
  5. Locate the DLC that you do not want to download in Nintendo eShop.

      1. Select Nintendo eShop on the HOME Menu to launch the Nintendo eShop.
      2. If there are multiple user accounts on your system, select the account you want to use.
      3. Select the magnifying glass in the upper-left corner to access the Search menu.
      4. Enter a keyword into the keyword field and select Search to search by the keyword. A list of results will appear.
        • If you would like to narrow your search further, you can adjust the Price Range and/or Genre to only display games within the category you set.
      5. After selecting a game title, scroll through the game details to view any available downloadable content.
      6. Select the DLC you do not want to redownload to open its details.
  6. While on the DLC details page, press the + button or - button 5 times.
    • If performed correctly, the message "This product is currently set to not be redownloaded." will replace the message on the right about redownloading by loading the virtual game card.

  7. Repeat this process for each DLC you do not want to redownload.
  8. Load the game through the virtual game card menu.

      2. Select your user.
      3. If prompted, enter your user verification PIN or enter your Nintendo Account password.
      4. Select the game you want to load from the list of your virtual game cards.
      5. Select Load on This System Cargar en esta consola Charger sur cette console Carregar neste console .
      6. If not already downloaded, the icon for the game will appear on the HOME Menu and it will begin downloading. Once downloaded, all users on the console where the game is loaded can play the game.

  9. The game will begin downloading automatically, without the DLC you disabled.
  10. If you wish to redownload some of the DLC later, return to the details page for the DLC in Nintendo eShop and press the + button or - button 5 times to re-enable redownloading, then re-load the virtual game card for the game.
