The information in this article can help you when the system buttons do not respond or respond incorrectly on Nintendo Switch Lite.
Important
- Prior to troubleshooting for non-responsive buttons, we strongly recommend you verify that the button configuration is set to the standard inputs.
- You can tell that the system's button inputs have been remapped because throughout different menus, a wrench icon will be displayed beside the system icon at the bottom-left corner of the LCD screen.

- If you don’t know or remember the system's custom configuration, you can set the system to sleep mode. Upon waking up the system, you’ll have the option to reset the button inputs.

The button test feature on Nintendo Switch Lite is not available for the following system buttons:
- POWER
- Volume
- HOME
- Capture
What to do
- If there are any wireless controllers paired to the system, use the touch screen to verify that the Console Button Input setting is set to OnSíOuiSim.
- Ensure your console has the latest system update installed. If the buttons are unresponsive, use the touch screen to navigate through System Settings.
- Check if the non-responsive buttons feel sticky or stuck down.
- If any are sticky or stuck, power off the system and clean the area around the problematic buttons using a soft, dry toothbrush.
