How to Confirm That Your Network Is Compatible with Your System

What to do

  1. Which system are you attempting to connect to the Internet?
  2. If you are attempting to play a Nintendo DS game online, the Nintendo DS game will only support a wireless network using the 802.11b or 802.11b/g wireless standard and WEP or no security.

    *While Nintendo provides this information for our consumers' use, it is up to each consumer to determine what security needs they have for their own networks, and to decide how best to configure their network settings to meet those needs.

    • Using connection files 1 through 3, the Nintendo DSi supports wireless networks using the 802.11b wireless standard and WEP or no wireless security.
    • If you wish to connect your Nintendo DSi online using the 802.11g wireless standard or WPA security, create a new connection file using the Advance Connection Settings.
      • Please note that Nintendo DS games that are not DSi enhanced will still require the 802.11b or 802.11b/g wireless standard and WEP or no wireless security.*
