Nintendo DSi
In this article, you'll learn how to block all or some web content on the Nintendo DSi Browser.
Note
- In order to browse the Internet on a Nintendo DSi or Nintendo DSi XL, you must have the Nintendo DSi Browser.
- You can block the use of the Nintendo DSi Browser completely, or restrict certain content.
- Some companies offer a Proxy service that can be used to filter web content. For information about setting up these services, you will need to contact the company directly.
Complete these steps
To completely block the use of the Nintendo DSi Browser
- Select Yes to "Restrict the use of Nintendo DSi Browser?" while setting up Parental Controls.
To block inappropriate content using content filtering
- On the main menu of the Nintendo DSi, tap the Web icon to launch the Nintendo DSi Browser.

- On the start page, tap Settings.
- Scroll down until you reach a box labeled Proxy, and click on it to reach the Proxy Settings menu.

- Select Use proxy to highlight the proxy fields.
- Enter in the appropriate Proxy information (Server and Port number).
- This information is obtained from the company hosting the proxy service.
- If you want to use the proxy to access HTTPS (secure web sites), select Use for HTTPS. (This is optional.)
- Setting a username and password will require them to be entered to unlock the proxy settings in the future. To set this, select Use proxy authentication. Then, enter a username and password into the appropriate boxes. (This is optional.)
- When you are finished, select OK to save your settings and return to the Start Page.
