How to Set Up Content Filtering (Proxy Server)

In this article, you'll learn how to set up a proxy server for your Nintendo DS Browser.
Note: Some companies offer a proxy service that can be used to filter web content. For information about setting up these services, you will need to contact the company directly.
Complete these steps
- Tap on the wrench icon on the tool bar to pull up the Settings menu.
- Click on the box labeled Proxy Settings to be taken to the Proxy Settings menu.
- Click the box labeled Use Proxy to enable the proxy/filtering setting.
- You may choose to lock the proxy so that no one else can turn it off. This is optional. If you choose to enable this feature, you'll enter in a password associated with the proxy lock. Once a password is set for the Proxy Lock feature, it will show as enabled.
- Enter in the appropriate proxy information (Server and Port number).
- This information is obtained from the company hosting the proxy service. Nintendo does not use or endorse a particular proxy company.
- You may also choose to use the proxy to access HTTPS (secure web sites), and for automatic authentication. Click the box next to each of these options if you wish to enable them. These are both optional.
- Some proxy sites require a username and password to access the filter. If you are using a proxy that requires a username/password, enter the username and password into the appropriate boxes.
- Once you've completed the proxy setup, click on the check mark symbol in the lower-right corner of the touch screen--you'll be returned to the Settings menu.
- Click on the check mark symbol in the lower-right corner of the screen to save your settings. (It should say, "Saving data. Do not turn off DS.")
