Educating Your Children on Privacy Concerns Regarding Nintendo DSi/Nintendo DSi XL Systems
The Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DSi XL come with optional Parental Controls which give parents the ability to decide what information their children can share with other people. For example, you can choose to enable Parental Controls to block some of the Nintendo DSi features, such as the ability to exchange photos with other Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DSi XL systems or the ability to chat wirelessly with PictoChat.
Whether or not you choose to enable Parental Controls, we highly recommend that you educate your children on the importance of not sharing any personally identifiable information about themselves with strangers when using the system. Make sure your children know not to use personally identifiable information such as their name, age, e-mail address, home address, phone number or birth date when creating their Nintendo DSi nickname, a user name, screen name or for any services offered through the Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DSi XL.
