Error Message: Error Has Occurred

Wii & Wii mini

The information in this article can help you when the error message: "Error Has Occurred" appears when loading or playing a game disc.

What to do

  • Verify the disc is compatible with the system; i.e. a Wii U game is not playable on the Wii console.
  • Verify that the disc is inserted properly. Depending on how the system is placed, the direction the disc needs to be facing will vary.
    • If the console is placed vertically, the disc label will need to face to the right.
    • If the console is placed horizontally, the disc label will need to face upwards.
  1. How many games does this error occur with?
  2. Check the non-printed side of the Game Disc for any dirt or damage.

    • If the game looks significantly damaged, such as with scratches or cracks, it will need to be replaced.
