Forgot Parental Controls PIN on Wii
Wii & Wii mini
Follow these steps when you forgot your Parental Controls password and need to reset a Parental Controls PIN on the Wii or Wii mini.
Complete these steps
- Navigate to the Wii Menu by pressing the HOME button on a Wii Remote and selecting Wii Menu.
- Look at the date and time displayed on the Wii Menu and ensure they are correct. If incorrect, they will need to be changed in order for you to complete the PIN reset process. You will not be able to reset the PIN until the date is correct.
- Select the Wii Options icon in the lower-left corner of the Wii Channel Menu.
- Select Wii Settings.
- Click on the blue arrow to reach the Wii System Settings 2 menu options.
- Select Parental Controls then Yes.
- Enter your PIN or select I forgot.
- Answer your secret question or tap I forgot.
- If you know the answer to your secret question, enter it to unlock parental controls. The system will go to the change parental controls screen and you will be able to change your PIN.
- Be sure to enter the secret question exactly as you originally typed it, as the answer is case sensitive.
- If you don't know the answer to your secret question, tap I forgot.
- If you know the answer to your secret question, enter it to unlock parental controls. The system will go to the change parental controls screen and you will be able to change your PIN.
- The screen below will appear:
- Make a note of the inquiry number displayed on your system. You will need it to reset your PIN.
- Reset your Parental Controls PIN
