How to Download Wii Shop Channel Items

In this article, you'll learn how to download Wii Shop Channel items (WiiWare Games, Virtual Console Games, WiiWare Game Demos, and Wii Channels).

Which Wii Shop Channel items would you like to download? Virtual Console Games WiiWare Wii Channels
1. Access the Wii Shop Channel.
2. From the Wii Shop Channel Welcome screen, select Start Shopping, then select Virtual Console.
3. Select from the following options as desired:
  - Popular Titles: Shows a list of frequently downloaded games.
  - Newest Additions: Shows a list of games recently added to the Wii Shop Channel.
  - Search By Category: Search by System, Publisher, or Genre.
  - Search by Game Title: Enter part or all of a game's title to search for a specific game.
4. Select the Up/Down arrows to scroll through the available titles, and the left/right arrows at the bottom of the screen to scroll through pages.
5. Select the desired game, then select Download or Redownload.
  - If the button says Downloaded when viewing a specific game title, it's already been downloaded to the console.
6. Select the location to download the game (Wii System Memory or SD Card).
  - If the SD Card button is grayed out, this indicates there is no SD Card inserted in the console.
7. A confirmation screen will appear. Select Yes to download the game.
8. A screen will appear with Mario running across the screen and three blocks. Mario will hit the blocks as the download progresses.
9. When the Download successful screen appears, select OK to return to the Wii Shop menu.
