How to Unlink a PayPal Account from a Nintendo Account

Steps to unlink PayPal information that has been saved to a Nintendo Account.

Complete these steps

  • Unlink the PayPal account on the Nintendo eShop
    1. Select Nintendo eShop on the HOME Menu to launch the Nintendo eShop.
    2. Select the Nintendo Account with the PayPal account that you want to unlink.
    3. Select the picture of your icon in the upper-right corner to access your Account Information.
    4. Part of the email address associated to the PayPal account will appear in the PayPal section. Click Unlink.
    5. Click Unlink again to confirm.
  • Unlink the PayPal account through the Account Home website
    1. Visit the Account Home website and sign in to your Nintendo Account.
    2. Scroll down and select Funds and Payment Methods.
    3. Select Manage payment methods in the "PayPal" section.
    4. Part of the email address associated to the PayPal account will appear in the PayPal section. Click Unlink.
      • If a PayPal account has not been linked to the Nintendo Account, the PayPal area will say Not set.
    5. Click Unlink again to confirm.

Additional information

Linked PayPal account information can be deleted on the Nintendo eShop or through your profile settings on the Nintendo Account website. Deleting the information in one place will also delete it from the other.
