At what point is the error code displayed?

• During console startup
  1. 1. Power off the console.

     2. Remove the microSD card.
        • Remove a microSD Express card
          1. Power off the console, then gently swing the adjustable stand open to show the microSD Express card slot.
          2. Gently push down on the top of the microSD Express card until you hear a click, then slide it out of the microSD Express card slot.

        • How to remove a microSD card
          1. With the console powered off, locate the microSD card slot:
             • Nintendo Switch 2: Gently swing the adjustable stand open to show the microSD card slot.
             • Nintendo Switch – OLED Model: Gently swing the adjustable stand open to show the microSD card slot.
             • Nintendo Switch: Gently swing the stand open to show the microSD card slot.
             • Nintendo Switch Lite: Gently open the microSD card slot cover.
          2. Gently push down on the top of the microSD card until you hear a click, then slide it out of the microSD card slot.

          Important: Save data, screenshots, and user information will not be deleted. However, any software saved on the microSD card will no longer be usable. Software can be redownloaded by the Nintendo Account that purchased it.

          1. Power off the system by holding down the POWER Button for three seconds, then select Power Options, and then Turn Off.
             • If the console does not respond, hold down the POWER Button for twelve seconds to force it to shut down.
          2. Press and hold down the volume up (+) and volume down (-) buttons, press the POWER Button once to turn the system on.

     It is possible that there may be an issue with the microSD card being used. To resolve this, here are some possible solutions:

     • Make sure the microSD card you are using is compatible with your console.
       • microSD Express cards compatible with Nintendo Switch 2

         Nintendo Switch 2 is only compatible with microSD Express cards.

         The following types of microSD cards are supported on Nintendo Switch 2:

         • microSD Express (up to 2TB)

         
         

         The following types of microSD cards are supported on Nintendo Switch:

         • microSD (up to 2 GB)
         • microSDHC (4 GB - 32 GB)
         • microSDXC (64 GB - 2 TB)

       Important

       • The Nintendo Switch 2 console is only compatible with microSD Express cards.
       • If there is more than a 1GB difference between what is listed on the card’s label or packaging and the total card capacity listed in the console, contact the retailer for assistance.
     • Format the microSD card.

         • Once formatted, the information on the microSD Express card cannot be recovered. If screenshots or videos are stored on the microSD Express card, be sure to first back up the information on a computer.

         • Save data is stored on the console’s system memory, so it will not be lost in this process.

  • Delete and redownload any problematic software.

      To redownload a digital game or DLC, load the virtual game card:

      2. Select your user.
      3. If prompted, enter your user verification PIN or enter your Nintendo Account password.
      4. Select the item you want to redownload from the list of your virtual game cards.

      6. The game (and any DLC for that game you have purchased) will begin downloading. You can check the download status on the HOME Menu.
