The information in this article can help you when an error code is displayed when trying to use an amiibo figure on a Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console or error code 2115-0096 is received.
What to do
Check that the console has the latest system update.

How to update to the latest system version
- Select System Settings on the HOME Menu.

- Scroll down to the bottom of the System Settings menu and select System.
- Select System Update.

- If an update is available, it will begin to download.

- Select System Settings on the HOME Menu.

Console is already up to date
If the console is already up to date, restart it by holding down the POWER Button for three seconds, then select Power Options followed by Restart.

How to pair a Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller to Nintendo Switch 2
The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller can be paired to the Nintendo Switch 2 console in the following ways:
USB Connection Pairing (Directly to Nintendo Switch 2)
- Power on the console.
- Connect the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller to the Nintendo Switch 2 using the included USB-C cable.
USB Connection Pairing (Docked)
- Place the Nintendo Switch 2 console in the dock.
- Power on the console.
- Connect the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller to the Nintendo Switch 2 dock using the included USB-C cable

Button pairing or wireless pairing
- From the HOME Menu, select ControllersControlesManettesControles.
- Select Change Grip/Order.
- From the Change Grip/Order screen
, press and hold down the SYNC Button
for at least one second on the controller you wish to pair.
- Once paired, the player LED(s) corresponding to the controller number will remain lit.

How to pair a Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller to Nintendo Switch 2
- If the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller or Pro Controller is connected to the console using the USB charging cable, ensure that Pro Controller Wired Communication is set to OFF, otherwise the NFC touchpoint on the controller will be disabled.
- Check that the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller is paired to the console.

How to pair the Pro Controller to Nintendo Switch 2
The Pro Controller can be paired to the Nintendo Switch 2 console in the following ways:
USB connection pairing
- Place the Nintendo Switch 2 console in the dock with LAN port.
- Connect the Pro Controller to the dock with LAN port using the included USB cable (model No. HAC-010)

Button pairing or wireless pairing
- From the HOME Menu, select ControllersControlesManettesControles, then Change Grip and Order
.
- While on the "Change Grip and Order" screen, press and hold down the SYNC Button
for at least one second on the Pro Controller you wish to pair.

The Pro Controller can be paired to the Nintendo Switch console in the following ways:
USB connection pairing

How to pair the Pro Controller to Nintendo Switch Lite
The Pro Controller can be paired to Nintendo Switch Lite in the following ways:
Button pairing or wireless pairing
- From the HOME Menu, select Controllers.
- Select Change Grip and Order.
- While the following screen is displayed, press and hold down the SYNC Button for at least one second on the Pro Controller you wish to pair.
USB connection pairing
Place Nintendo Switch Lite on the Dual USB PlayStand (or other licensed accessory), then connect to it the Pro Controller using the USB charging cable (model No. HAC-010).
