How to Take Photos in 3D

Nintendo 3DS

In this article, you'll learn how to take photos in 3D with the Nintendo 3DS Camera.

Note
  • The inner camera takes 2D photos only.
  • 3D images cannot be viewed if Parental Controls are restricting the 3D feature.
  • If you are using this feature with the Nintendo 2DS or New Nintendo 2DS XL, you will not be able to view any of the images in 3D. You must test images on a different system from the Nintendo 3DS family to see if they are working properly. 3D images viewed on the Nintendo 2DS or New Nintendo 2DS XL will appear blurry, split, or overlapped.

Complete these steps

  1. Select the Camera icon from the HOME Menu and tap Open.
  2. For best results, make sure the photo subject is:
    • Well lit
    • At least 12 inches away from the camera
    • In front of other objects or scenery if possible
  3. Tap L Take or R Take on the Touch Screen to take the photo.
    • L, R, and A Buttons can also be used to take a photo.
