Wii Speak Channel Overview
Wii & Wii mini
Note
- The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service, which provided online functionality for the Wii Speak Channel, was discontinued on May 20, 2014.
- Users that have installed the application will no longer be able to use its features and will receive error code 20110 upon starting the application. If you wish to delete the Wii Speak Channel itself, this can be done from the Data Management menu.
The Wii Speak Channel let people in up to four locations (who also had the Wii Speak Channel and microphone and had traded Friend Codes) chat with one another using their broadband Internet connections. When chatting through the Wii Speak Channel your Mii appeared on the TV screen and mimicked your chat. You could also leave audio messages for your friends and family members or use Wii Speak to narrate captions for your photos.
Purchasers of the Wii Speak microphone could use the included Wii Ticket Download Number to download the Wii Speak Channel. The Wii Speak microphone was sold separately, or with special bundles of the game Animal Crossing: City Folk.
