Add Account With Confirmation Code
Steps for how to create and link a Nintendo Account to a Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console with a five-digit confirmation code.
Important
- This process is optional. If you don’t want to use the confirmation code, or the code is missing/not working correctly, follow the standard steps for adding a Nintendo Account to either a new Nintendo Switch 2 user account, a new Nintendo Switch user account, or to an existing user account.

Before you start
You will need:
- Your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console
- An Internet connection

Complete these steps
- When linking a Nintendo Account to a user account (new or existing), select Create Account when prompted, to set up a new Nintendo Account.
- Select Send account-creation instructions via email.
- Enter your date of birth, then select OK.
-

- Click OK on the console to reach the five-digit confirmation code entry screen.
- An email will be sent to your parent/guardian that explains how to set up your Nintendo Account on a PC or smart device. Have your parent/guardian click the URL in the email.
- The email should arrive shortly, and expires in an hour from when it’s sent.
- If you don’t receive the email, please follow the standard steps for adding a Nintendo Account to either a new Nintendo Switch 2 user account, a new Nintendo Switch user account, or to an existing user account.
- Have your parent select An account for a child on their smart device or PC, then create a Nintendo Account for you.

- On the console, enter the confirmation code into the appropriate field, and click OK.
- You will receive a confirmation message that your Nintendo Account is now linked to your user account. Click OK to return to the system settings.
Important: If you can’t find the confirmation code or it doesn’t work, please follow the standard steps for linking an existing Nintendo Account to either a new Nintendo Switch 2 user account, a new Nintendo Switch user account, or to an existing user account.
