How to Download or Redownload Content in the Nintendo eShop for Wii U

In this article, you'll learn how to download content in the Nintendo eShop using your Wii U.

  • If you recently downloaded an item on the Nintendo eShop but do not see an icon on the Wii U menu, check Download Management to see if the item is still downloading.
  • Once deleted, Nintendo eShop purchases can be redownloaded at no cost.

Complete these steps

  1. What do you want to do?
    1. From the Wii U Menu, select the Nintendo eShop icon and tap Open.
    2. Select My Menu or press the Y Button.
    3. Select Your Downloads and the type of content being redownloaded (Software or Content).
    4. Select Downloaded Software or Downloaded Content.
    5. Scroll through the list of titles, and select Download next to the title you wish to redownload.
      • If the Download option is not visible, this indicates the software is already installed on your Wii U console. Installed software can be found on the Wii U Menu.
      • If the selected content has a rating, it will be displayed on the screen. Select Next to continue.
    6. Select Download.
    7. Select Next, and then select Download again.
    8. The download will begin automatically. Select Continue to return to the Nintendo eShop Menu.
    1. From the Wii U Menu, select the Nintendo eShop icon and tap Open.
    2. Select My Menu or press the Y Button.
    3. Select Your Downloads and the type of content being redownloaded (Software or Content).
    4. Select Downloaded Software or Downloaded Content.
    5. Scroll through the list of titles, and select Download next to the title you wish to redownload. You may need to toggle between Downloaded Titles and Software on This Console to find the title you are looking for.
      • If the Download option is not visible, this indicates the software is already installed on your Wii U console. Installed software can be found on the Wii U Menu.
      • If the selected content has a rating, it will be displayed on the screen. Select Next to continue.
    6. Select Download.
    7. Select Next, and then select Download again.
    8. The download will begin automatically. Select Continue to return to the Nintendo eShop Menu.
